UCF men’s basketball wrapped up its first season in the Big 12 Conference with a 17-16 record, going 7-11 in conference play.
UCF’s season ended on March 19 at home against the USF Bulls in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament, when it lost 83-77. The Knights lacked in free-throws, going 12-for-23 in the game. That’s 52% of free-throws made and by making just six more, they could’ve at least tied the game.

Losing the “War On I-4” was a bitter way to end the season, but despite the loss to its
rival, UCF accomplished a lot in its first season in the Big 12 Conference and showed it can compete.
Before the season started, a Big 12 preseason coach’s poll unanimously had UCF finishing last in the conference. The
Knights also had five new transfers coming in and would have to build their team
chemistry up again. Although finishing third from last when the season came to an end, the Knights proved doubters wrong.
